World FM Day certainly kicked off with a bang here in the UK and by the time it was celebrated in the US and Australia it had timeline deliveries of over 7.5m tweets.
NJW, are overjoyed by the success of their recent Workplace Continuity Seminar held on Wednesday 10th June 2015. The Resilience, Response and Recovery theme proved very interesting and attracted over 200 delegates to The Royal Bank of Scotland, Bishopsgate in London.
Following the seminar, an evening drinks reception, networking and charity auction in aid of Oxfam International was held raising a total of £12,500 which we know will make a big impact in supporting recent disasters such as the earthquakes in Nepal.
The ‘Workplace Continuity’ seminar involved a total of eight presentations from international guest speakers throughout the day. One of which was Duncan Waddell from GlobalFM who presented the prestigious Awards of Excellence in FM. “The GlobalFM – Excellence in FM Awards are a high-level international competition recognising the best-of-the-best in Facilities Management, highlighting how they support businesses across the globe” – Duncan Waddell, Chairman of GlobalFM.
Other guest speakers were; former radio broadcaster Bruno Brookes, CEO of Immedia, who presented an inspiring piece on introducing sound into the workplace – ‘What does your family sound like?’ and Jo Cowlin and Lou Banks, Bolt from the You, who gave an insightful presentation about ‘Relationship Resilience in the Workplace’, which many were still discussing late in to the evening.
NJW are very pleased with how well received the event was and are already thinking about next years World FM Day. The team would like to thank all those involved and are very grateful for their participation and attendance.
