That NJW was commissioned to survey and produce mechanical and electrical drawings including multiple layout drawings for each of the 9 floors of what was known as the Government Communication Bureau. This is more commonly known as MI6, the home of the secret intelligence service.


Rumour has it that the building was originally designed to be prestigious flats but MI6 decided it would make a sophisticated Headquarters.

The project lasted many years and Nigel had to meet ‘Haden’ the company he was working for at an outside coffee house to discuss progress. The NJW Engineer never attended any NJW social events or shared any knowledge once he was working on the project and carried on until he retired.
