10 years ago NJW were commissioned by Honeywell to provide the CAD office for the new Wembley Stadium project. Nothing could be fitted or implemented at the stadium unless it was shown on a CAD drawing managed by NJW.
As such, the NJW team was positioned in porta-cabins adjacent to the building site and provided thousands of CAD drawings with multiple updates.
We were lucky that our quotation was based on reduced rate ‘time and motion’ as many contractors opted for a fixed fee contract. The project overrun as no expense was spared to give the Nation a stadium to be proud of. This prestigious project lasted for over 3 years.
Rumour has it that a steeplejack had to be employed to climb the 133 meter tall arch that sits above the North stand because someone forgot to take the lens caps off of the arch cameras.
