Charity BBQ Success for NJW

Last Friday NJW staff celebrated the opening of our new summer garden at Goldwell house by hosting an evening of a game of rounders and BBQ in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity we are supporting this year.

Around twenty staff made the trek to the adjacent Goldwell Park in central Newbury for the inaugural game of the prestigious Goldwell Cup rounders league 2018, where the two teams battled it out for the win despite some dubious tactics from the men’s side involving some movable bases part way through the second half.

Unusually for a British BBQ we were blessed with plenty of sunshine where the rounders team were rewarded with ice cold beverages and juicy burgers, before relaxing the in garden to revive those hard-worked muscles.

It was great to see the social buzz of the office come to life as different individuals and teams united for an evening of sport and drinks, donating what they felt appropriate towards The Brain Tumour Charity. The evening raised £109.50 towards our £3,000 target.

On 8th July this year, eight NJW staff will join our long terms clients and friends at Sodexo to compete in the Tough Mudder event in Hemel Hempstead – 10 gruelling miles of off-road running, spluttering and surviving whatever obstacles are thrown our way.
