Access Audit

Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995, which came into effect on 1 October 2004, means that service providers should make reasonable adjustments to their premises to allow equal access for both able bodied and disabled people.

Access audits are now identified, in the Code of Practice for Part III of the Disabled Disabilities Act 1995 (DDA), as the best tool for the planned improvement of services and premises.

At NJW, our disabled access surveys can help and advise you on how to identify what reasonable modifications can be made or if other methods can be used to enable a fair and reasonable service to all.

This can include providing suitable signage and information, and even training to make staff aware of their duties and best practice procedures for serving a disabled person.
