During this phase, the project team applies a standardised problem solving methodology to validate the desired outcome of the implementation and establish the detailed requirements for the solution. First, the needs and goals established in the strategy phase are revisited to validate and detail the scope of the solution needed. Each option is weighted against current industry best practices and applied to the solution to determine desired modifications.
The project team will work to define and document items including solution delivery strategy; IT systems requirements; application environment planning and controls; external systems interfaces and integrations; legacy system data migration needs and plans; business process flows; decision information and process management requirements; reporting and training requirements.
